Untitled (The Wizard)

Untitled (The Wizard) arose from my performative experiments in the literary context. For a year, poetry readings formed the site for my experimentations in performative representations of self. Untitled (The Wizard) brings these structures back into the theatre. Together with Tessa Broadby, we attempt what seems risible to us: a jazz sequence danced in unison, a poem performed as a song, being a solo performer/one-woman show/stand-up comedian. The audience is guided through the programme by the dazzling figure of the wizard, who combines exhibitionism and timidity, delusions of grandeur, musicals and rap. And of course there is a back door here as well, through which somebody disappears. Making the duo into a solo, and who knows, perhaps some unexpected guests might also turn up?
